creating cool flowing lines is simple if you just know a few chords. a pretty simple chord progression is G,E,C,D, all of them major except E (in the key of G the progression would be I,vi,IV,V). first just try walking up root, 3rd, 5th, 3rd, all in quarter notes. for example G would be G,B,D,B. do this with G, E, C, and D.
